David Goh
Senior Pastor, The Garden
Dr. David T Goh is the senior pastor of the Garden, a downtown church passionately pursuing being a community of God’s Word and God’s Spirit. This congregation was planted in 1962 by David’s parents, and he has served as a pastor there since 1987, becoming the senior pastor in 1995. At that time, David began partnering with fellow pastors such as Rev. Oscar Anthony, Pastor Wendell Vinson and Pastor Andy Prince with a heart for serving the poor and lifting all sectors of our community together. David is the founder of Garden Pathways (1997), a community-based non-profit that mobilizes mentoring to transform the lives of individuals and families. He led the team that formed Kern Leadership Alliance. David has also served as adjunct faculty in New Testament at Fuller Theological Seminary and Vanguard University. His passion is for his family, his congregation, community transformation, the in-depth study of Scripture, the fullness of God's Spirit, and music. David holds a BA. in English and Fine Arts from CSUB, a MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a PhD in New Testament Studies from the University of Durham.
His KLA "why": To transform a region by addressing its pressing needs and maximizing its potential takes not only hand-on helping and ministry but strategical collaboration of leaders and influencers in all spheres of influence. Lasting change results when the improvement of systems and development of broad-scale strategies can be pursued with a common vision. With Christ at the center, we lay aside self-preservation and self-promotion and work together in the Spirit of Jesus.
