Karen Goh

Mayor, City of Bakersfield - President/CEO, Garden Pathways

Karen Goh is the mayor of the City of Bakersfield, California’s ninth largest city. She is also the President and CEO of Garden Pathways, a community-based non-profit that mentors and educates at-risk persons. Karen previously served on the Board of Supervisors of the County of Kern, having been appointed by the Governor. Prior to that, she volunteered as Executive Director of Garden Pathways, after having a career in New York City where she held executive positions in educational publishing at The McGraw-Hill Companies (Executive Editor, Editorial Director, Managing Editor, VP Editorial Administration, VP Administration, and VP Publishing Operations). She is a University of Southern California Undergraduate and Graduate School Alumna. 

Her KLA "why": Community transformation is the responsibility of every follower of Jesus. As leaders unite in prayer, with intentionality, and in coordinated strategies, we can effectively impact the well-being of our community.

Favorite thing about Kern County: The hard working, productive, and caring people of faith and family living at the center of food, fiber, and energy production.
