Andy Prince
Pastor, Grace Baptist
Dr. Andy Prince received a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Management from NC State University and his Masters in Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated with his Doctorate in Ministry with an emphasis in Church Growth, Missions, and Evangelism from SEBTS. He married his wife Kristine in 1995 and God has blessed them with three children: Anderson, Daniel, and Ellie. In 2001, God called their family from North Carolina to plant a church in Bakersfield. Because of that call, Sure Foundation Baptist Church was started in the spring of 2002. In 2006, Andy became a founding co-pastor when Sure Foundation merged with First Baptist Church of Green Acres to form Grace Baptist Church. Currently, Andy is the lead pastor of Grace Baptist and has led his congregation to be active in community transformation. Andy has been involved in KLA from its inception and believes in its vision of working together as the body of Christ in Bakersfield to connect, pray, and serve to bring God's hope to our community. Andy enjoys going on missions trips, watching college and pro football, playing golf, traveling with his wife, spending time with his children, and having a good meal with friends.
His KLA "why": I am passionate about Kern Leadership Alliance because it brings Christ glory when His bride comes together to connect, pray, and serve Kern county. It is extremely encouraging to see how God has strategically placed followers of Christ in leadership positions in our community and the synergy of what happens when we work together from different backgrounds, traditions, and areas of giftedness to serve the people of Kern and impact God's kingdom.
While time to serve in life is precious, I eagerly love serving on the board of KLA with the other members who also love this area. We have been brought together with a desire to see our community transformed with its citizens experiencing the blessings God graciously wants to pour out on our community. KLA is truly making an impact in bringing the Christian community together and working on pressing issues facing our society with a hope that comes from the belief that Christ brings real transformation from His love. It is a true honor to serve with an organization that is bringing hope and solutions to our community.
Favorite thing about Kern County: I love the people of Kern County and their genuine friendliness, their love for taking care of each others, and their courage to embrace that we are one nation under God.
