Life as a Servant-Leader
|According to Robert Greenleaf, the servant-leader is servant first. Becoming a servant-leader begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first. Then conscious choice brings one to aspire to lead. Here’s Greenleaf’s best test for servant-leaders: Do those served grow as persons? Do they, while being served, become healthier, wiser, freer, more autonomous, more likely themselves to become servants?Next month’s speakers are Doug and Ken Carter, sons of the late Warren Carter whose model of servant leadership we honor at next month’s Servant Leadership Award Breakfast.|
