However, God has raised up His followers into positions of influence in Kern County to help combat the plague that destroys staggering numbers of families, youth, and children.

Carl Beckett is the Resident Agent in Charge (Kern and Inyo) of the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration. Carl’s assignments have encompassed areas of heavy drug traffic including, Columbia, New York City, and Newark. In college he played on the St. John’s basketball team that made it to the Elite Eight NCAA tournament.
Carl shared how he lives out his professional duties as a ministry assigned to him as a follower of Christ. He shared with us how we can be part of the effort to suppress the role of drugs in our community. Supervisor Ray Watson, who has convened the countywide Meth Reduction Task Force, added final comments and closed us in prayer.
