KLA partners with Protect Marriage 08
This month the KLA Community Prayer team hosted our monthly prayer meeting at St. Paul’s. Our prayers focused on the Protect Marriage 2008 initiative and those impacted by the drought and wild fires in our community. It was another time that was blessed by God’s presence as His people lifted up requests to Him. We are so privileged to be able to meet together and petition the Creator and King. We have seen Him perform amazing works among us in recent days and we believe this will continue as long as we keep our eyes focused on Him.
Cynthia Giumarra, director of Women’s Ministries at Canyon Hills, prayed with us this month. She is our local contact for the Protect Marriage 2008 initiative and statewide efforts to provide information and awareness about the initiative to amend the California Constitution to keep marriage between a man and a woman.
The Kern Leadership Alliance (“KLA”) has partnered with the Protect Marriage 2008 initiative. We recently sent out a mailing to over 600 churches in our community to inform the Body of Believers about the upcoming events and efforts for this initiative.
We see this as a critical time in our State to stand firm in our beliefs and to protect the marriage covenant that God created. We are in awe at the amount of organization and effort that has been set in motion to draw attention to this matter in a statewide level.
On July 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., Canyon Hills will be hosting a statewide conference call for more information about this initiative and how our Church community can help to get the word out. If you are available, please attend.
The most important component of this effort must be prayer. Please include this initiative and those involved in your prayers. This is a time when we must communicate God’s truth in love. God’s people must expect resistance and confusion from others and we must be ready to respond with love and clarity. Protect Marriage 2008 will commence 100 days of prayer on July 28th. His call is clear and His time is now.
