KLA Prayer Meeting – April 2008

April 14, 2008 – You most likely do not have time to read this article. In all honesty, its author didn’t have time to write it. This is part of the battle we find ourselves in, the battle of allocating time in our schedule for the things of God. KLA needs YOU…it needs you to continue to carry these prayers to God’s altar and ask Him for His help.
We had another blessed time at St. Paul’s as we called on God.  The theme of our prayer time was “Go and make disciples.” In our prayer time we focused on two things:
Our local government officials who are faced with making difficult budget decisions, we asked God, among other things, to give them wisdom in making these decisions; andThat the Believers in our community would feel empowered and encouraged to make a difference on their spheres of influence – whether that is in our neighborhoods, in our homes, in our congregations, or in our workplaces – we are all called to shed His light and to love others. Please continue to pray over these areas.  KLA has a unique opportunity to unite Believers and watch God’s hand changing lives. We have seen fruit from our prayers, in March we prayed that our Churches would come together to serve the lost in our community.  Since praying this prayer, we have watched at least eight churches unite to form a new non-profit to serve the lost and broken.  It has been truly amazing to watch it all come together.
Our next prayer meeting will be taking place on Tuesday, May 6, 2008.  During this prayer meeting one of our focuses will be the Bakersfield Rescue Mission. Most of you have probably read the Californianarticle that talked about its challenges and its staffing and budget cuts.  Lives are being changed through the Rescue Mission work and the harvest remains ripe.
If you have not taken the opportunity to join us, please come.  You will be blessed.  Invite others to join us.  If you know a government official, please let him or her know that they have been prayed for and encourage them with the love of Jesus.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened” – Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)
