Why should you join the DER Committee?

DER is constantly developing new ways to prepare the faith community by building partnerships in Kern County. Our action plan for the next year includes:

• Developing training videos to be used within churches, by the main disaster coordinators, to train their staff and volunteers
• Growing partnerships to expand resources available to churches
• In partnership with the Kern County Health Department, GIS mapping churches around the county
• Training more churches in disaster preparedness
• Participating in community events that raise community support for disaster preparedness
• Continue to secure funding to share our services and training for FREE
